Job summary
Treetops SARC provides support, advice, forensic examination services and wrap around care for people of all ages living in Hampshire and the Isle of Wight (HIOW) who have experienced rape or sexual assault. The service is based in Cosham, Hampshire and is open 365 days a year, and staffed by on-call crisis workers and sexual offences examiners out of hours. Please note the service will be moving to Fareham.
Main duties of the job
*To assume responsibility for providing clinical leadership, ensuring compliance with all clinical standards in relation to HIOWH SARC provision.
*To review, develop, implement and maintain robust clinical governance processes in order to ensure the service provides timely, effective and high quality delivery.
*To provide clinical leadership, ensuring audits of the current service delivery are carried out and any clinical risks are identified, escalated and mitigated where possible, to ensure safe effective care for clients.
*To contribute to the development, verification and reporting of robust clinical indicators and outcome measures relevant to the services.
*To champion SARC services and establish effective working relationships with key stakeholders to promote services, continuously upholding the core values and beliefs set by the SARC Strategic Board.
*To manage peer review, governance review meetings (including both SARC, integrated SHHS and the Trust) and to provide clinical review of patient files.
*To professionally oversee SARC delivery in line with national guidelines (FFLM, Forensic Science Regulator, RCPCH, BASHH, FSRH) relating to:
emergency interventions and support following rape and sexual assault
forensic examinations including immediate aftercare
sexual health (sexually transmitted infections and HIV)
emergency contraception
follow-up for all of the above processes
