Job summary
In Portsmouth we are proud to be at the forefront of integrated multi-agency work with neurodiverse (ND) children and their families. As a national trailblazer, we have launched our new Multidisciplinary Neurodiversity Service. This brings together experts from a range of fields to provide universal and targeted information, advice and guidance.
This exciting new role will give you the opportunity to be part of our work alongside a range of professionals with ND expertise in the city. You will offer consultation to professionals, and assessment, advice and therapeutic intervention to young people and their families. You will foster close relationships with colleagues in Education, Health and Social Care, children and their families to ensure we understand and meet the challenges they face when children have additional needs.
As well as meeting the person specification, we will be looking for someone who is passionate and enthusiastic about Neurodiversity and what the team is setting out to achieve. We are also keen to employ someone who already champions the principles and values of the ND MDT service:

Main duties of the job
*The Neurodevelopmental Practitioner will work within the Neurodiversity Multidisciplinary Team to assess children and young people for neurodevelopmental differences i.e., ADHD and ASD, and to provide post assessment guidance and therapeutic intervention to family and networks as per need.
*Uses clinical judgement in relation to the assessment, diagnosis, and management of patients, undertaking a range of clinical actions including developmental assessment, school observation/liaison and individual observation of the child.
