Outpatient Complex Hand Therapist

Job summary

A fantastic opportunity has arisen in our Hand Therapy Team based at Queen Alexandra Hospital (QAH) in Portsmouth. We are seeking like-minded, enthusiastic, well-motivated Physiotherapists or Occupational Therapists to join our friendly, highly skilled, and supportive team of professionals.

You will be joining a team which provides treatment for patients with complex hand presentations from Orthopaedics, Plastics, and Rheumatology services. You will be working in an outpatient setting and gain experience in working in a clinic environment alongside specialist consultants, surgeons, and nurses.

As a Band 6, you will have the opportunity to support the Band 7s in service and team development and to develop your leadership and management skills. You will also have access to structured supervision, regular in-service training and the opportunity to participate audit, service development and in local hand specialist network meetings and study days.

Main duties of the job

  • To provide specialist assessment and management of patients with complex hand presentations.
  • Your caseload will include patients who have a range of acute and chronic hand conditions, with referrals generated from Orthopaedics, Plastics and Rheumatology.
  • Working autonomously and without direct supervision, you will be accountable for own professional actions.
