This is an exciting opportunity to become the Modern Matron for Capacity and Flow across Hampshire in the Secure, Acute and Crisis Division, leading a team of Patient Flow Clinical Managers/Clinical Specialists and Flow Navigators to support patients to access inpatient beds in a timely and effective way. This team is helping shape and deliver our vision of providing outstanding services to patients and their families across the county.

The role requires an innovative and creative person who can not only manage the day-to-day delivery of the service, but who can also think strategically about the longer-term plan and the constant improvement of the quality of the service and provide inspirational leadership.

Your track record will include leading services and change, excellent people skills, working cohesively with internal stakeholders (Ward teams, Crisis Home Treatment Teams, Mental Health Liaison Teams, Community Mental Health Teams, Older Persons Services) and building long lasting, effective relationships with external stakeholders, in particular the senior teams at the acute hospitals, the ICB and our Local Authority Partners.

Main duties of the job

The post-holder will work closely with the Associate Director of Capacity & Flow (Mental Health) in providing leadership, advice, challenge and support to effectively manage the mental health bed stock across the Trust. Delivery will require collaborative working with key individuals within each of the geographical Divisions as well as with outside agencies and organisations.
