Are you looking to begin or develop your career in NHS workforce services?

As a Medical and Dental Workforce General Assistant, you will play a vital role in supporting our medical workforce team to deliver excellent services to doctors across the Trust. This is an exciting opportunity to gain experience in a busy, varied environment where no two days are the same. You will be the first point of contact for staff, managers, and colleagues, providing high-quality customer service and administrative support.

From triaging inbox queries to supporting recruitment and workforce processes, your contribution will help ensure our doctors are supported to provide outstanding patient care. In return, you will be part of a welcoming, supportive team that values development, teamwork, and excellence.

You will be encouraged to learn new skills, gain confidence, and progress in a service that underpins the delivery of healthcare across our communities.

Main duties of the job

You will provide a wide range of administrative support to the Medical Workforce team. This includes managing workforce inboxes, answering straightforward queries, and directing staff to the right service. You will update databases, systems, and records; prepare documents, slides, and guides; and support processes such as inductions, starter and leaver paperwork, and locum bookings.

You will help maintain the accuracy of handbooks, intranet pages, and workforce documentation. Good organisation skills are essential, as you will arrange meetings, prepare agendas, take notes, and ensure follow-up actions are completed. You will also assist with reporting, maintaining electronic files, and coordinating IT and rota updates. To succeed, you will need good communication skills, the ability to prioritise tasks, and a customer-focused approach.

Most importantly, you will share our Trust values of compassion, accountability, respect, and excellence in all that you do.
