Join us as a Consultant Psychiatrist at Bluebird House, our nationally recognised, purpose-built medium secure unit for young people and the only service of its kind in the South of England. This is a rare and influential role within the National Secure Forensic Mental Health Service for Young People, offering the chance to shape the future of forensic adolescent mental health care.
We're seeking an experienced Consultant with an interest in Forensic Psychiatry or CAMHS to join our forward-thinking multidisciplinary team. You'll take a central role in leading complex clinical care, contributing to national strategy, and driving service innovation within a highly specialised environment.
With strong clinical leadership, excellent MDT support and close links with academic, research and teaching programmes, you'll have the space to develop your practice, supervise trainees and influence best practice regionally and nationally. Set on the edge of the New Forest yet minutes from Southampton, the unit offers a peaceful and relaxing setting for it's residents undergoing treatment.

Main duties of the job
The Trust is seeking to appoint a consultant forensic child and adolescent psychiatrist to join the existing team at Bluebird House. This is a full-time post with a potential to take up a leadership role as Clinical Lead for the unit.
Bluebird House is staffed by a multi-disciplinary team, with non-consultant medical staff (specialty doctor, resident doctor), psychology, occupational therapy, social worker, nursing and health-care support work provision. There are excellent links with community services such as school nursing, podiatry, dietetics, sexual health, substance misuse services as well as with secondary care services via University Hospital Southampton.
