Join Our Team at Cromwell House -- Full-Time Catering Assistant (Band 3)

Are you passionate about food, teamwork, and delivering excellent service? Cromwell House is looking for a dedicated Catering Assistant to join our friendly and hardworking team.

In this varied role, you'll support the kitchen and dining areas by preparing and cooking hot and cold dishes, assisting with sandwich and vegetable prep, and helping with general hosting duties. You'll also serve meals, maintain cleanliness, and ensure food safety standards are met. Working across a 7-day rota, you'll play a key part in delivering high-quality catering services to clients and staff.

We're looking for someone who:

  • Can follow food safety procedures and maintain accurate records

Main duties of the job

  • Prepare and serve food and beverages in line with SSTK guidelines and food safety standards
  • Assist with cooking, beverage preparation, and general hosting duties
  • Maintain high standards of hygiene, cleanliness, and food quality
  • Ensure proper food handling, storage, and temperature control with accurate record-keeping
  • Support stock control by reporting shortages and using resources responsibly
  • Serve customers as directed and contribute to a positive team environment
  • Clean and sanitise kitchen equipment, utensils, and dining areas
  • Follow cleaning rotas and ensure all areas are hygienic and ready for use
  • Record and help reduce food waste and associated costs
  • Report faults in equipment, stock deliveries, or facilities promptly
  • Work under pressure while maintaining integrity, enthusiasm, and professionalism
  • Adhere to all Trust policies, including personal hygiene and safety procedures
  • Participate in training, meetings, and service improvement initiatives
  • Support budgetary control and efficient use of materials
  • Handle complaints professionally in line with Trust procedures
  • Undertake additional duties as required to support service delivery
