Job summary
Are you an experienced nurse looking to lead with compassion and clinical excellence? Beechwood Ward at Parklands Hospital is seeking a dedicated Charge Nurse to join our team, supporting older people with functional mental health needs in a safe, therapeutic environment.
Beechwood Ward is an assessment and treatment ward for older adults experiencing conditions such as depression, bipolar disorder, and schizophrenia. Our approach is person-centred, recovery-focused, and delivered in a calm, welcoming setting that includes a private garden and seating area for patients and visitors.
As Charge Nurse, you'll take a key leadership role in coordinating care, supervising staff, and ensuring high standards of clinical practice. You'll work closely with a multidisciplinary team to support patients through their recovery journey, while fostering a culture of respect, dignity, and inclusion.

Main duties of the job
Take part in clinical and management supervision and attend all developmental training sessions.Take charge of a ward from time to time as allocated.Adhere to those stipulations as defined in the NMC Code of Professional Conduct at all times.Exercise leadership within the service by ensuring sound organisation, good communication and relationships within the nursing team under the guidance and supervision of the Ward Manager and Nurse Team Leader.Inform the Ward Manager and/or Nurse Team Leaders of any specific clinical activity as appropriate.Inform the Ward Manager and/or Nurse Team Leaders of any professional issues as necessary.Report to, or assist/advise the Ward Manager and/or Nurse Team Leaders of any matters of complaint.
