This is an exciting opportunity to join Southampton CAMHS as a Clinical Psychologist within the core specialist CAMHS team. This is a full-time post based at CAMHS Horizon Centre in Southampton.
The post holder will work closely with Southampton's Youth Justice Team and will support the delivery of care for the young people referred to CAMHS that also receive support from the Youth Justice Service. You will support the development of psychological formulations that seeks to understand how a young person's experiences of trauma, neurodivergence, and/or their interactions with different systems creates distress and vulnerabilities to further harm. You will contribute to the development of multi-agency care plans and provide both direct and indirect psychological intervention as appropriate - including individual therapies, Good-Lives Model informed care and Trauma-Informed Network Consultation.
You will get the opportunity to work with Service Managers, Associate Directors, staff within the Trust and partner agencies, You will also be working with service users and families, social care colleagues including the Youth Justice Service, schools, education specialists and police representatives, as required.
Main duties of the job
We are looking for a confident professional with a demonstrable track record of providing good quality evidence-based interventions and an interest in service improvement. We would welcome applications from clinical psychologists who share our passion for delivering the best quality care experience for children and their families. This role will be closely supported by the Consultant Clinical Psychologist, Principal Clinical Psychologists and Senior Clinical Psychologists across both Southampton and Portsmouth CAMHS, as well as by the CAMHS Team and Service Managers.
