Job summary

Do you like variety in your working week? Then this position may be for you, we need a chef who will be happy to work across our 15 sites in Hampshire, on occasions at short notice.

You will be based at our CPU kitchen in Gosport but may be asked to go to other sites around Hampshire, You will be responsible for producing a range of high quality food, and in some areas providing cook freeze products from Gosport CPU, although you will be providing some fresh cook food on other sites, and at times to cover regeneration of meals.

Main duties of the job

We need you to be flexible and adaptable to work in multi sites across the trust premises. You will need to have a full clean UK driving license and a vehicle to use with business insurance, as excess mileage will only be paid for travelling to other sites if you have business insurance.

Shifts are predominantly 5 days over 7 based at the CPU but you will mainly be working between Monday to Friday. You may be required to supervise junior staff.

We use locally sourced seasonal products whenever possible. You will need to have an in depth knowledge of special diets and allergen awareness to ensure our clients get the meal that is right for them, and you must follow given recipes only.

You will need to keep accurate records of all food produced to ensure HACCP principles are adhered to.

The post holder is responsible for the delivery of meals on a day to day basis in order to provide an effective, efficient and customer focussed service which meets the changing needs of the Trusts' managers, employees and members of the public.

We are looking for someone that has experience of producing food in both large quantities to smaller exacting standards in some other units by diligently following set recipes and following the instruction of the local clinical and dietetic staff.

You will need to be able to prioritise your work in order to meet deadlines and have a customer focused approach. Previous experience of working within a large catering environment is essential.
