Job summary
The post holder will work as part of the Solent Neurological Rehabilitation Services (SNRS), providing comprehensive admin and clerical support to teams within that service. They will work without direct daily supervision, using their own initiative to work on specified tasks and obtain support and advice from the clinical staff/Business Administrator when required. Will be expected to organise own time on a daily basis and prioritise workload according to agreed priorities.
Main duties of the job
Working positively with colleagues and patients to maintain effective working relationships. Must have good communication skills, sometimes requiring tact where there may be barriers to understanding and communication . To maintain confidentiality and diplomacy at all times. To ensure communication is effective and appropriate, especially when communicating in difficult situations.
Word processing of correspondence including letters, reports, forms, tables, agendas, minutes and presentation material using appropriate I.T. packages, including Excel spread sheets and PowerPoint presentation. To use standardised Trust templates and ensure accurate filing, recording and distribution. Some typing may contain complex client information and medical terminology.

- RSA 2 word processing/typing or equivalent proven experience.
- Educated to O Level/GCSE Grades A -- C in English or equivalent standard.
- Completion of NVQ 3 in Business Admin or equivalent proven experience at this level.
- Demonstrate well developed skills in the use of Windows based packages eg Word, Power Point, Outlook.
- Demonstrate accurate and tidy presentation of work.
- Good communication skills across all levels and disciplines both internally and externally.
- Able to develop and maintain good working relationships with a range of staff including different professional personnel.
- Good interpersonal skills and confidence in dealing with sensitive issues.
