Job summary
We are looking for a self-motivated Communications and Engagement Development Manager, to work across Hampshire and Isle of Wight as part of the Sexual Health and HIV Service.
In this exciting role you will be supporting the development and overseeing the implementation of communications, campaigns and promotional operational strategies, including the design and development of digital front door services and patient engagement activities.
Working within the Community Sexual Health Promotion team, this is a diverse and unique role that contributes to the effective engagement of patients and stakeholders as well as supporting innovation and service development, working overall towards improving the public health outcomes in key target population groups.
This role also provides communications and promotional support to The Treetops Centre, Sexual Assault Referral Centre.
Duties will also include operational management of core functions such as condoms and resource distribution and supporting with the co-ordination of training and networking events.
This role is to cover maternity and is until the end of March 2026, This is a part time role working 30 hours a week. Hours and base location are negotiable.
Main duties of the job
Key Duties
- Oversee the implementation of service wide communications strategies, including the creation of informative and interesting press releases, newsletters, social media, marketing materials and service wide resources.
- Oversee and contribute towards a mixed methods approach in the proactive development, planning, implementation and evaluation of health promotion campaigns and promotional activity including use of digital, out of home, radio and media.
- Oversee the development of the letstalkaboutit.nhs.uk website, using analytics and evidence to make recommendations for improvements, to include, but not limited to; development of educational capacity, improving patient experience, use of inclusive language and navigation and professional's pages.
- Supporting with the development of communications strategies to engage target population groups including use of social media platforms.
- Develop communication pathways and networking requirements with key stakeholders.
Administrative and Operational
- Operational management of a professional's contacts database, making recommendations for improvements.
- Develop, plan and produce proactive communications and health promotion campaigns and activities.
- Manage the operational function of the condom schemes
- Co-ordinate activities related to patient engagement and consultation.
- Responsibility for the checking and updating of the service website using the content management system.
- Co-ordinating the activities in relation to media handling.
