Job summary

The Willow Group are looking to appoint an innovative clinical leader who is excited by new opportunities that are evolving in primary care, integrated neighbourhood teams and modern general practice. The post holder will be responsible for the delivery of approachable senior Clinical Leadership to the primary care team. They will pride themselves in providing high quality clinical care and will work within the practice senior leadership team to develop the vision and direction for Primary Care Services within the HIOW Trust.

The Clinical Lead will demonstrate effective leadership skills, leading by example for all staff within the practice. The post holder will undertake appropriate training to further develop and hone those leaderships skills as agreed with the Clinical Director. Continuous quality improvement will be supported and led by the Clinical Lead understanding the evidence-based importance of implementing change. They will represent the practice in a variety of senior forums for example at ICB level.

The Clinical Lead will have a broad oversight of the issues affecting the registered patient population and take responsibility to develop clinical focus, for example, optimising disease prevalence and thereby improving the quality of patient care that is delivered to all chronic disease groups and vulnerable patient groups such as patients with learning disabilities.

Main duties of the job

The post holder will be an experienced GP with a broad knowledge of primary care in the UK. Up to six sessions a week will be involving delivering clinical care for patients attending Willow Group sites over a range of conditions and presentations. You will demonstrate experience and an interest in leadership to support improvement. You will work to build on or maintain the existing systems that maintain safe and effective practice, innovating where needed.

  • *Fully qualified GP with GMC registration
  • *Evidence of annual appraisal and revalidation (when appropriate)
  • *General practice (Vocational Training Scheme) trained.
  • *On/eligible to be on a medical performers list
  • *Enhanced CRB check
  • *UK driving licence.
  • *Current CPR certificate
  • *UK work permit (if required)
