If so, this Band 5 Staff Nurse role in Winchester may be for you.

Set in picturesque grounds, Serenity Path Hospital is a 10 bed General Adolescent Unit, offering inpatient care for young people experiencing severe and/or complex mental health difficulties who require hospital-based treatment.

The unit offers a structured environment with specialised care for young people needing intensive support and treatment.

The service offers staff a flexible and diverse way of working with our young people, as well as a wealth of development opportunities.

We also benefit from being part of a portfolio of 3 CAMHS hospitals with a robust culture of collaboration, learning from events, and sharing innovation and best practice.

This post is also available to newly qualified nurses, and you will be offered a comprehensive preceptorship when you come to join us.

Main duties of the job

As a staff nurse you will be a vital part of our multi-disciplined team helping us to deliver high standards of care to the young people we care for.

Your day will be very varied and include supporting our young people through completion of nursing assessments, evaluation of care, contributing to ward reviews, training and development of junior staff and ensuring a high standard of nursing care is maintained through supervision.

To provide a nursing assessment when appropriate of referred cases to determine the suitability for mental health nursing intervention.

To act as a prime provider of care for allocated patients by planning, assessing and evaluating patient programmes of care.

To frequently prepare for, participate in and attend ward rounds and other multi professional meetings.

To ensure a high standard of nursing in the application of clinical nursing procedures and treatments including the custody, storage and administration of medicines.

To maintain a high standard of nursing care during procedures and treatments through supervision and instruction.

To ensure patients rights are maintained and protected under the Mental Health Act.
