Job summary
We are looking for a highly motivated, enthusiastic Occupational Therapist to join the specialist CAMHS eating disorder service.
We are looking for a practitioner; preferably with experience of working with young people, although experience with young adults or adults with eating disorders is also relevant.
We welcome applications from practitioners who have a passion for delivering safe, effective, and high-quality care. The successful applicant will join our experienced MDT in the delivery of our ARFID (Avoidant Restrictive Food Intake Disorder) pathway. As a team this is a pathway, we are keen to expand, including building on the national clinical evidence through research projects.
The ARFID MDT sit within the wider Eating Disorders Team and the post holder will have an opportunity to provide OT specific interventions to all the clinical pathways, this may include group and individual work.
This role gives opportunity for development of skills and expertise in a supportive multi-disciplinary team.
You will be supported within the team by senior clinicians and will work closely with other specialists within the service. Clinical supervision and professional leadership will be provided.
There are excellent opportunities for professional development within team through supervision, training, team CPD and wider CAMHS and Trust events. There will also be opportunities to network with other OTs within the trust.
Main duties of the job
As a Senior Occupational Therapy Practitioner, you will manage an appropriate and complex clinical caseload, delivering a specialised range of clinical interventions informed by evidence-based practice and relevant models of occupational therapy within mental health. You will be responsible for providing comprehensive clinical assessment, formulation, intervention and review, including CPA processes and care coordination where appropriate, for service users, their families and carers. Ongoing evaluation and modification of treatment plans will ensure the effectiveness and progress of interventions. You will contribute to the development of multi-disciplinary clinical guidelines and protocols and maintain up-to-date written and electronic records in line with professional and Trust standards, including specialist occupational therapy reports. The role includes supervising junior staff, promoting recovery-focused and occupational approaches within the team, and adhering to Trust risk management policies and procedures.
