Deputy Governance Lead North

Job summary

We are looking to recruit an enthusiastic, highly motivated Deputy Governance Lead to work across our clinics in the North covering Aldershot, Andover and Basingstoke. The post will be for 5 days per week (37.5 hours) based in the North area.

The successful candidate will have the opportunity to work alongside the Governance Lead and support the wider clinical and administration team to provide an efficient service for our special care patients.

The successful candidate will be confident, able to work under pressure and have the ability to communicate effectively. Assist with the day to day running of the service and management of staff. With ongoing training and development, you will deputise alongside the Area Governance Lead to continually improve patient care and work with the Practice Management Team.

Applicants must have the NVQ or Equivalent in Dental Nursing, be registered with the GDC and will be able to show leadership and people management skills that through mentoring can be further developed. It is important that applicants are also able to demonstrate strong interpersonal and communication skills. Excellent ICT and organisational skills are essential.

Applicants must have the ability to travel across the whole of the service.

Main duties of the job

Support the Governance Lead/Practice Manager and Clinical Lead to assure governance standards and protocols are implemented and followed in respect of Risk, Safety, Quality Improvements, Professional Standards and Regulatory Standards

Be a visible and accessible member of the Locality team with specific emphasis on ensuring the dental nurses receive regular Clinical and Safeguarding Supervision, education and training to support a sustainable workforce.

Have leadership qualities, supporting the development of knowledge, skills and experience to ensure dental nurses practise safely and effectively in the best interests of patients.

Assistance in treatment of patients with special needs where some extra knowledge of medical conditions, disabilities and behavioural problems is required, including conscious sedation.
