Job summary
We are looking for a highly skilled, enthusiastic and forward thinking senior paediatric Nurse to lead our integrated Community Children's Nursing (CCN) service on an interim basis. We are seeking a senior CCN who is able to step into this role for a six month period, providing day to day leadership to our Southampton CCN team.
Our CCN team works collaboratively with babies, children, young people (BCYP) and families within the wider MDT to ensure care is provided within the community wherever possible. We provide high quality and holistic, family centred care to BCYP with a nursing need across Southampton and west Hampshire area including those with; Long term conditions, Disabilities, complex conditions, those requiring continuing care, life-limiting and life-threatening illness, including those requiring palliative and end of life care.
Ideally you will hold the CCN Specialist Practitioner Qualification, have experience of clinical leadership, caseload management as well as line management/supervision. As a senior Nurse within the CCN service, you will have the opportunity to shape and lead the team, supporting the Nurses to deliver specialist care.

Main duties of the job
- Provide specialist clinical and managerial advice, training and education to healthcare professionals within and outside the Trust, nationally and internationally through a variety of teaching methods, encouraging a positive learning experience
- Assess the training and development needs of colleagues and use
appropriate strategies to share specialist knowledge and influence the
practice of others
- Continually develop and improve knowledge, skills, and attitudes in
structured ways, including accessing clinical supervision and participating
in the Trust annual appraisal process
- Share good practice through creating positive opportunities to network
locally, regionally, and nationally and contribute to the wider development
of the specialist area of practice through publication and dissemination
