Job summary
We are recruiting for a Chef to join our team.
You will be responsible for producing a high Quality cook freeze product, in this NHS exemplar site kitchen, preparing good quality multi portion meals to be delivered to our other sites in SHFT, to help in our client's recovery.
Your work pattern will be working 5 days over 7 but mainly working Monday to Friday, however on occasions you may have to cover weekend duties, and alternative days off will be given during the week, you will have some limited supervision of junior staff.
We use locally sourced seasonal products whenever possible. You will need to have an in depth knowledge of special diets and allergen awareness to ensure our clients get the meal that is right for them.
Main duties of the job
You will be expected to show flair and imagination to help develop the retail side within the department especially with chef's specials of the day and themed events to help prevent menu fatigue, and in developing menu items within budgetary restraints for inclusion on future seasonal menu's.
You will need to keep accurate records of all food produced to ensure HACCP principles are adhered to.
The post holder is responsible for the delivery of meals on a day to day basis in order to provide an effective, efficient and customer focussed service which meets the changing needs of the Trusts' managers, employees and members of the public.
We are looking for someone that has experience of producing food in large quantities and to exacting standards by diligently following set recipes.
As a team player, you'll be able to prioritise your work in order to meet deadlines and have a customer focused approach. Previous experience of working within a large catering environment is essential.
