Job summary
The successful applicant will be working alongside three other (3.5 WTE) substantive consultants within the OPMH service who divide the work across the community localities and inpatient OPMH services. This post will have a traditional community team role involving outpatient clinics within a community team including a range of professionals such as community psychiatric nurses, psychologist support workers, occupational therapists, and social workers. We would welcome discussion on areas of special interest that would be compatible with this role. As with most other community teams across the country, we are currently working in a hybrid model (combination of remote/virtual consultations and face to face consultations), although the majority of our frail elderly patients prefer face to face consultations.
Main duties of the job
The successful applicant will be a skilled clinician providing strong clinical leadership to the multidisciplinary team and a range of clinical practitioners across the specialist teams. At a time of national change, the candidate will be expected to be flexible and engage fully in the development of the service and to work closely with the managerial team to achieve the service objectives and best care for the patients. The successful applicant will also be expected to take part in teaching medical students and trainee doctors shadowing the clinic. The successful applicant will also be expected to cooperate with future service reconfiguration within the service.
