Occupational Therapist (rotation)

Job summary

Rotating through 5 different clinical areas (inpatient stroke, medical inpatients, community and rehabilitation unit) with opportunities to utilise transferable skills and learn about a wide variety of conditions in each rotation giving a fantastic range of experience to progress to more senior or specialised positions.

We are looking for motivated and dynamic Occupational Therapists to join our unique rotation programme. You will gain exposure to a full spectrum of different health care conditions and will have opportunities to work with highly specialist clinicians in a broad range of different clinical specialities within the New Forest and surrounding areas.

We have a reputation for excellence in professional development through a comprehensive preceptorship programme, a wide range of internal courses, CPD opportunities and we also work closely with our local higher education organisations taking students from all surrounding universities.

This post would be suitable for either a newly qualified or experienced band 5.

Only open to applicants from Hampshire & Isle of Wight NHS system, which is limited to: Hampshire and Isle of Wight ICB, Hampshire & Isle of Wight Healthcare FT, Portsmouth Hospitals University NHS Trust, University Hospital Southampton FT, South Central Ambulance Service, Isle of Wight NHS FT or Hampshire Hospitals FT.

Main duties of the job

To assess and treat own caseload, with supervision from a senior and to maintain own records as an autonomous practitioner

To work as part of the therapy team and take part in staff meetings, and in-service training sessions.

To supervise and support students and support staff with support from Senior Therapists.

To contribute to the inter-disciplinary working by teaching, learning & practicing inter-disciplinary skills & techniques as defined by an agreed competency framework or training scheme.
