Job summary
The Elmleigh team are looking to recruit a part time medical secretary to provide a comprehensive and supportive secretarial service to the Elmleigh medical and wider team. The post holder will be responsible for the organisation of their own workload. The needs of the service user will be the utmost priority and the principle of high-quality customer care is at the heart of this role as well as ensuring a friendly and professional ethos within the team/department for patients.
Main duties of the job
Providing timely and accurate secretarial support to the Consultants and team.To develop and maintain Consultant/Medical Team diary, working closely with them to ensure a smooth and effective service.To receive requests for appointments from various sources and to deal efficiently with these requests.To ensure that all appointments are booked and all administrative tasks are carried out prior to the consultation date. Acting as first point of contact for all messages for Consultants/Medical Team in a professional and polite manner.Organise meetings and taking minutes, typing and distributing to those appropriate as required by the medical team.Coordinate and organise actions arising from correspondence and ensure prompt and efficient response. Coordination with other professionals, outside Agencies, legal staff, Trust staff etc and maintaining records.Flexibility to provide cover for colleagues/reception during breaks, holidays, sickness and training.To undertake any additional projects or administration tasks for the team as required.Processing referrals, scanning and uploading on the Trust's electronic system Rio and databases as required within Trust key target times.To assist in the collection of data for the purpose of audit, research and service performance. Any other duties in line with the post.
