MSK Clinician (Physiotherapy Outpatients)

Job summary
The MSK Service is looking to recruit 3 MSK clinicians into the outpatients team at our Andover & Petersfield localities. The teams form part of a larger MSK service which takes pride in delivering high quality care & rehabilitation. We encourage conversations around flexible working options.
Working closely with primary & secondary care colleagues, the MSK teams serve the local community in outpatient settings across Hampshire. Caseloads are varied & referrals are received directly from GPs & Orthopaedic Consultants as well as self-referrals.

Main duties of the job
Be professionally and legally responsible and accountable for all aspects of professional activities
Take responsibility for the assessment, treatment and advice of patients referred by senior medical staff, GPs or other health professionals including extended scope practitioners.
Interpret and analyse clinical and non-clinical facts to form accurate diagnoses, prognoses and recommend best course of intervention in a wide range of musculoskeletal conditions.
Be responsible for own case load.
Continually reassess patients in order to progress treatments effectively and advise patients, employers and occupational health departments on the appropriate time to return to work, sports and other activities
Co-ordinate intervention which may include other disciplines; advises and educates patient/carers/relatives/other health professionals
Manage clinical risk within own caseload at all times
Be responsible for maintenance of accurate electronic records to include progress and discharge reports to medical referrers as required.
Use knowledge to refer to other health disciplines as appropriate
Demonstrate physical ability to carry out assessment and interventions
Be competent in assessing a wide range of musculoskeletal conditions based on theoretical knowledge of anatomy, physiology and pathology, often in situations where conflicting evidence is present.
Be able to competently design, deliver and modify exercise prescription as a key component of MSK care.
