Senior Mental Health Practitioner

Job summary

We are recruiting for a Senior Mental Health Practitioner to join our team on the Isle of Wight.

You will provide a service to children and young people age 0-18 and their families that are experiencing emotional health and wellbeing difficulties. We are a multidisciplinary community mental health clinic that provides support, consultation and training to universal and targeted children's services.

We provide primary and specialist mental health and eating disorder services in the community and to inpatient treatment services as required. You will provide high quality care and treatment in conjunction with other professionals and work in partnership with other agencies to provide seamless, flexible services which meet service user and carer need.

Main duties of the job

The post holder will be responsible, together with the wider team, for providing care, interventions and health promotion to people with severe mental health problems in the community and eating disorders. The post holder will also undertake a supervisory role in respect to multi-disciplinary junior team members and work alongside the multi-disciplinary team and Team Leader on clinical issues such as therapeutic approaches and care co-ordination The post holder will also be expected to work as an autonomous practitioner, as well as taking all opportunities to become actively involved in training and teaching programmes, both within the Trust and the wider community.

  • RMN with live NMC registration. Allied Health Professional Psychologist Occupational Therapist or Social Worker with appropriate current registration
  • Evidence of on-going development and post registration training.
  • Post registration training in evidence based psychological treatments.
  • Demonstrable Care Co-Ordinator Competencies.
  • Training in Risk assessment and management skills.
