Job summary

A unique opportunity has arisen for a motivated and experienced Administration Co-ordinator to join our Community Learning Disability Team in North & West Hampshire.

We are looking for a proactive, organised, and enthusiastic individual who can play a key role in supporting the smooth running of our team. This is a vital role at the heart of our service, providing high-quality administrative support to ensure the delivery of outstanding care to people with learning disabilities.

Open only to current employees from Hampshire & Isle of Wight NHS system, which is limited to: Hampshire and Isle of Wight ICB, Hampshire & Isle of Wight Healthcare FT, Portsmouth Hospitals University NHS Trust, University Hospital Southampton FT, South Central Ambulance Service or Hampshire Hospitals FT.

Main duties of the job

The post holder is a key member of the team who co-ordinates the vital administration support provided to clinical staff. They will also be responsible for the line management of a team of administration staff.

The post holder must have excellent administration and people management skills combined with proven experience of using a broad range of administration platforms and demonstrable experience of managing staff.

The post holder will also possess excellent communication skills with the ability to adapt their communication style according to the needs of the audience. The role requires the post holder to work in a dynamic, vibrant, multi-disciplinary team where the ability to liaise with people with a learning disability, carers, other health professionals and stakeholders is essential.

Training and support will be provided to enable you to be successful in role.

  • Administration or secretarial qualification
  • GCSE English Level 4 or above
  • GCSE Maths Level 4 or above

Experience

  • Proficient IT skills across a range of software programmes (Outlook, Word, Excel, Big Hand) used in a previous administration or secretarial role.
  • Good written and verbal communication skills, including ability to adapt communication to meet the needs of service users or others.

  • Proven experience of managing or supervising administration and/or secretarial staff, with evidence of leadership skills and promotion of good team working.
  • Problem solving skills.
  • Ability to work under pressure and meet competing demands.
