Job summary
An exciting opportunity has arisen to join the Therapies Team, based at Falcon House at St James' Hospital, Portsmouth on a full time basis.
We are currently seeking to recruit a motivated, enthusiastic and organised Mental Health Practitioner who is keen on working with children/young people with mental health needs and their families as part of our QNCC excellent Accredited CAMHS service in Portsmouth. We are looking for a dedicated professional who shares our Trust's HEART values and is committed to working collaboratively as part of our Multi-Disciplinary Team delivering a high standard of patient-centred care.
We are a forward thinking specialist CAMHS service, working hard to deliver clinical care pathways, using evidence-based practice in order to ensure a young person's journey through our service is accessible, timely and effective. We promote integrated working with education, social care, CPMS, inpatient care and various other outside agencies in order to achieve better outcomes and transitions for children, young people and their families. You will be required to work independently. You will adhere to professional guidelines and the code of conduct for your registered profession and in conjunction with safeguarding and Hampshire and Isle Wight healthcare NHS foundation Trust policies as well as procedures.
Main duties of the job
One of our key priorities is finding the right type of person who shares our values of patients first, working together and always improving; someone with the ability and attitude to grow and develop in the Trust as a valued member of our team. We would be interested to hear from Allied Health Care Professionals, Creative Therapists, Occupational Therapists, Mental Health Nurses, Systemic Practitioners, Social Workers or those already working in mental health. Experience or interest in group work would be a bonus.
Key tasks include:
*Undertaking complex assessments of children and young peoples mental health needs.
*Undertaking comprehensive risk assessments and engaging young people and their family in safety planning.
*Working as part of a multi disciplinary team to offer advice and consultation to professional partners such as GP's, schools and social care.
*Working as part of a multi disciplinary team to offer clinical advice and consultation to children young people and their families.
*Co producing evidence based care plans with children, young people and their families.
*Managing a case load of clients and delivering evidenced based interventions.
*Group facilitation.
If you have a strong interest in working with children with mental health needs and their families, have excellent communication skills, can work alongside a multitude of different disciplines with the client in the centre and you hold the relevant qualifications/ skills, we would be delighted to hear from you.
