Job summary

Are you passionate about improving the lives of individuals with learning disabilities? We are seeking a dedicated Specialty Doctor to join our dynamic team within the North and Mid Hampshire Division. This role is open to applicants wishing to undertake the post in fewer sessions, as well as those with relevant experience.

You'll be part of an innovative multidisciplinary team providing comprehensive Community Learning Disability Services across Hampshire and Isle of Wight. Our services include:

Community Learning Disability Teams (CLDT) covering areas such as West Hampshire, Southampton, and North & Mid Hampshire.

The Intensive Support Team offering specialist support across Hampshire.

Forensic Learning Disability Services including an inpatient unit and Community Forensic Team.

Main duties of the job

Key Responsibilities:

Provide psychiatric input to community teams and work closely with nurses, psychologists, occupational therapists, and other professionals.

Conduct clinical assessments, manage cases, and offer expert health advice to service users, families, and carers.

Collaborate in a holistic approach to service user care.

Participate in MDT allocation meetings, clinical reviews, and ongoing supervision.

This post is suitable for both experienced professionals and those new to Learning Disability Psychiatry. Regular support and training are provided to ensure your success.

  • Recognised basic Medical Degree
  • Full GMC Registration with license to practice

Experience

  • 3 years full time service in Psychiatry since registration, or equivalent
