Job summary
This exciting new role as Operational Lead (MSK Admin) provides a key link between clinical service delivery and vital administrative delivery for the Musculoskeletal Service within the Isle of Wight Division for HIOW Healthcare NHS Foundation Trust. This is a six months internal secondment opportunity.
The successful candidate will work closely with the clinical and service leads within the Musculoskeletal services to ensure safe and effective clinical delivery considering the organisational strategy and business plans to support clinical governance and quality assurance. Ensuring priorities and goals are met, projects run to schedule and all team members report effective, timely communication, whilst feeling involved in change and improvement processes.
Leadership is an essential component in this role from mentorship and line management support, guiding day to day delivery and prioritisation, to guiding service change. Particularly reviewing administrative processes and considering innovative ways to deliver services.
Main duties of the job
To be responsible for maintaining MSK Admin staff personnel records.
To be responsible for MSK Services admin, travel claim, and Healthroster sign off
To regularly participate in working parties and to lead projects proposing policy change and service design to improve services and create efficiencies including departmental moves and relocation where required.
To exchange confidential, sensitive, or contentious information with senior managers/clinical staff/clients which require persuasive skills where agreement and co-operation is required.
To carry out project work as deemed necessary by the MSK Service Lead.
To be responsible for compiling statistics and reports.
To monitor and review all administration systems within the services to ensure efficient working practices to implement efficiency projects.
To be responsible for ordering equipment for various services.
To liaise and communicate effectively with all levels of staff within the service and the wider Trust as well as with patients, carers, voluntary and external organisations.
To ensure appropriate risk assessments and other assessments are completed and documented in a timely manner in accordance with Trust policy.
To ensure equipment is maintained in accordance with Trust policy.
To be the co-ordinator for the data custodians for MSK services. This involves ensuring that all patients' records for the service are kept in compliance with the Caldicott guidelines.
