We would welcome applications from an RMN/RNLD who would like to experience working with multi-disciplinary teams. The person we are looking for should possess excellent team working skills, be patient focused and embracing of the Trust values. You will have in-depth post qualification experience at Band 5 working in Mental Health and will possess demonstrable leadership skills; you will be ready to take the next step in your career and will have evidence of CPD.
Southfield provides specialist care and treatment for people with serious mental illness in a secure environment who are detained under the Mental Health Act. Service users are aged between 18 -- 65 years old, male and female, and may have either committed a criminal offence, or have challenging behaviour. The main purpose of the unit is to assist Service Users to understand and manage their own mental health, so that where possible, they can be reintegrated back into the community.
Main duties of the job
As a Charge Nurse you will take charge of a ward regularly and accept duties as delegated by
the clinical ward manager. You will support the management of a ward including the
deployment, supervision, teaching of staff/students and resources.
You will be responsible for assessing individual care needs and develop, implement and
evaluate programmes of care as well as setting standards of care and you will take
responsibility for the management, deployment and supervision of junior staff in the unit
throughout the span of duty when on night duty.
