Job summary

The overall role purpose is as follows, to:
*Provide direct clinical leadership using the most up to date and evidence based theory and practice with a specific focus on innovative strategies to reduce Restrictive Practices.
*Work directly with patients and Clinical Teams developing Violence Reduction plans with patients.
*Work with Clinical Teams to introduce evidence based models that will reduce violence across wards.
*Offer expert clinical advice for patients, carers, staff and other professionals.
*Demonstrate advanced competence in highly complex decision making, assessment and the management of clinical needs within Acute Mental Health Services.
*Work with the Restrictive Practice Lead for Local Services and Lead Nurse for Acute Mental Health Services in order to maintain and report on key performance/governance data on key areas of restrictive practice.
*Use Quality Improvement methodology to improve services.
*Work in partnership with patients, carers and other practitioners to ensure effectiveness of outcomes.
