If so, we in the Occupational Therapy service in Adult Specialist Services have a permanent full time vacancy at Ravenswood House Medium and Low Secure Hospital.
We are looking for a passionate, and dynamic therapist to join us in providing excellent care for male service users with mental health illness, in our secure forensic setting.
Forensics is such an interesting field of practice. We work collaboratively with service users, with a risk history, to help them reintegrate into the community.
As part of our team you would be working in the inpatient hospital and accessing the local community, to support service user to develop and maintain functional skills, through the use of the occupational therapy process. There are opportunities to build links with external agencies and step-down support, to enable service users to thrive within the least restrictive level of security.

Main duties of the job
As a band five you will have an opportunity to join our network of band five OT's and get regular peer support. If newly qualified, you will also join the preceptorship programme and have an opportunity to work alongside other preceptees in the Trust.

*In our services we receive an additional payment of 1,400 per annum this is called 'forensic lead'.
*You will be joining a network of supportive OTs and OTAs with a range of experience, to work alongside.
*You will receive regular continuous professional development, as well as opportunities to get involved in various project work and research.
*You will receive funding and support for training opportunities in areas such as sensory integration, cognition, mental health and physical health and have space and support to pursue your own interests and areas of practice.
*Each occupational therapy service uses the VdT Model of Creative Ability, which is embedded into the therapy provision. You will receive VdTMoCA training and ongoing support to become skilled in its use.
*You will receive a comprehensive induction together with monthly supervision and regular peer support.
