Job summary

We are seeking an enthusiastic, confident, and motivated Administrator within our Community and Inpatient Therapy service. Successful candidates will be part of the team providing a service that includes answering telephone calls from patients, carers, GPs, hospitals, the Ambulance Service, and other health care agencies and professionals, processing emails and booking appointments. You will need to be able to pay attention to detail and accurately record information on the electronic patient record and pass this electronically or verbally to clinical colleagues in a timely way to ensure seamless, consistent, and safe care to patients.

You'll need to work calmly and effectively under pressure and possess good attention to detail. You should be able to demonstrate strong interpersonal and communication skills, as callers to the Therapy team may have difficulty with hearing or English may not be a first language. A significant proportion of Therapy work entails using a variety of software packages so strong IT skills are vital to this position. You must also be proficient in Microsoft Office, including Excel, Word and Share Point.

Working hours will be rostered between 8:00am and 4:00pm, Monday to Friday.

Main duties of the job

To contribute to the provision of an effective and efficient therapy service including answering telephone calls from patients, carers, and other health care agencies and professionals and accurately receiving and recording information to convey to other staff through the electronic patient record or verbally in a timely manner.

The administrator will also assist in processing email referrals and messages received by the team. The administrator role will adhere to the service specification and operating procedures and provide administrative support to the therapy team. The therapy team receives telephone calls from patients, their families and carers, GPs, nurses, and other healthcare professionals. There will be a need to allocate to, prioritise, and communicate with community and inpatient teams to ensure seamless, consistent, and safe care to patients.
