Job summary
Are you passionate about supporting children's mental health and emotional well-being? We are seeking a dedicated Therapeutic Practitioner to join a collaborative partnership between the NHS and Southampton City Council. This is a unique opportunity to make a positive impact on the lives of young people in our community.
As a Therapeutic Practitioner, you will provide high-quality mental health and emotional support to children and young people, working in a multidisciplinary team alongside NHS professionals and council services. Your expertise will help children build resilience, improve emotional regulation, and overcome challenges, empowering them to thrive in their daily lives.
Main duties of the job
Key Responsibilities:
* Provide therapeutic support to children and young people with emotional and mental health needs.
* Use evidence-based therapeutic techniques, including Cognitive Behavioural Therapy (CBT), Play Therapy, and Solution-Focused Therapy.
* Work collaboratively with schools, families, and other professionals to create tailored care plans.
* Offer individual and group therapy sessions to address a range of emotional and psychological difficulties.
* Contribute to the development of resources to promote mental health awareness and early intervention strategies.
Ideal Candidate:
* Knowledge of child development, mental health conditions, and emotional well-being strategies.
* Strong communication and interpersonal skills, with a compassionate and empathetic approach.
* Ability to work within a team, but also independently.
