Job summary
The main purpose of the role is to provide effective leadership and management to the administration and reception support functions of the Sexual Health Service, within a Systems Thinking informed, evidenced based framework of improvement and service development. This role will work in close collaboration with the other Admin & Systems Managers in the Sexual Health and HIV Service (SHHS) and the Operational Support Managers for each locality.
Service Summary
Hampshire and Isle of Wight Healthcare NHS Foundation Trust Sexual Health Service provides Sexual and Reproductive Health (SRH) and Genito-Urinary Medicine (GUM) services across Hampshire, Isle of Wight, Portsmouth and Southampton.
The community health promotion team delivers community work that contributes towards the following measures:
Reduce late diagnosis of HIV and onward transmission
Reduce rates of sexually transmitted infections
Reduce unplanned pregnancies
Reduce rate of under 16 and under 18 conceptions

Main duties of the job
To ensure administration and reception staff are managed, standards of work, processes and workflows are maintained and Trust policies for the management of staff performance are adhered to.
To work closely with the Admin & Systems Managers and the Rota Administrators in the East and West to ensure adequate service delivery and absence cover, county-wide. To provide emergency reception cover if required.
Establish and maintain effective communication systems within areas of responsibilities, both internally and externally.
Lead by personal example to establish a high profile for good customer service and excellence across the Service Line, working with others to ensure good practice.
To maintain equipment and report any defective equipment and made safe without delay in accordance with trust procedures.
Approve and monitor all annual leave for the administrative and reception staff ensuring adequate cover is maintained at all times.
To investigate service concerns, complaints and incidents relating to business support functions and collate response information, liaising with HIOWH PALS and management and leadership teams as required and implementation of any learning outcomes. This will involve communication with patients who may be upset and using sensitivity and tact to try to resolve their concerns, alleviating the need for a formal complaint to be made.
To monitor service Friends and Family Test (FFT) feedback, identifying themes and making recommendations.
