We are looking for an enthusiastic and experienced Physiotherapist to join our Community Neuro Rehabilitation Team within Neuro Rehab Services in Southampton as a Clinical Specialist Physiotherapist and Team Lead.
CNRT is a friendly team that provides specialist community therapy intervention to patients with a wide variety of neurological conditions and presentations in the Southampton city and surrounding Hampshire region. The successful post holder will provide individualized programs of rehabilitation to patients of varying complexity, providing clinical specialism to the team as well as Team Lead support and guidance.
You will be supported by our Senior Clinicians, Service Leads and work closely with the other Physio's within the team and other multidisciplinary team members including Rehab Consultants, Specialist Nurses, OT's, SLT's, Psychologists, Rehab Assistants, and admin support. We are located in Adelaide Health Centre, Southampton, with close connections to our wider Neuro services within the Service Line.
The post holder will have post graduate experience which should include some specific neurological clinical experience, excellent leadership skills and evidence of working within a multidisciplinary team. Experience of service improvement projects or audits is also desirable.
This is a community post, therefore access to a vehicle for community visits is essential.
Main duties of the job
As Team Lead, to support with the co-ordination and development of the provision of an effective and efficient Community Neurological Rehabilitation Service for patients within Southampton and West Hampshire.
To take responsibility for and provide Physiotherapy clinical leadership within the team.
To support the service leads in planning, delivering and evaluating pathways in partnership with PT colleagues and other MDT colleagues and together lead the planning, delivery / evaluation of all elements of rehabilitation programmes.
To support Physiotherapists and the wider MDT in the implementation of treatment plans for neuro patients.
To be responsible for service development in conjunction with Senior Management, which enables improved outcomes for people living with neuro diagnosis in Southampton & West Hampshire.
Undertake staff clinical supervision across the team and support team leaders in maintaining performance and conduct of team members.
To manage and be responsible for the clinical staff within CNRT including recruitment, appraisal, continuing professional development and human resources.
To hold a complex clinical caseload, delivering specialist profession-specific and, where appropriate, enhanced clinical intervention to those with stroke and neuro diagnosis and their carer's. Provide leadership for the delivery of high-quality profession-specific intervention, competence and development within the team and in support of the wider Neuro community services.
