This job is now closed

Job summary

This is an opportunity for current Hampshire and Isle of Wight Healthcare staff to join the Posture Management Service as a specialist clinical advisor. These are internal opportunities that are available either on a permanent basis or as a one-year secondment. Successful applicants will have a local clinical focus supporting staff across the organisation with their training requirements and with patients who have complex posture management needs. We hope to recruit three advisors, one-day a week, to support each of the three legacy geographical Southern Health divisions. Applicants must have advanced clinical skills and experience in posture management. They will mainly be required to travel within their current locality but may on occasions need to travel across Hampshire and Isle of Wight ICB, so access to a car is essential.

The successful applicants will be proficient, knowledgeable, and competent. Educated to Degree level in Occupational Therapy or Physiotherapy and hold HCPC registration. They will continue to develop in their role through the support of the Posture Management lead and through acquisition of further skills, knowledge, and competencies, that are determined by the needs of our patients, the service, and the team.

Main duties of the job

You will provide clinical support to case holding clinicians in the Community teams covering a wide range of patients with complex posture and secondary complications needs.

You will assist in the development of our local posture management framework, policy, and competencies.

You will help in the development of training modules and deliver training and CPD sessions.

You will assist with the funding pathways and screening of equipment outside of section 75 equipment provision from Hampshire Equipment Service.

You will forge strong links with the Community and specialist Teams and will be working closely with your Occupational Therapy, Physiotherapy and Nurse colleagues.

The post demands flexibility, enthusiasm, and commitment, and is very rewarding as it is a role where you can make a real difference to our patients' clinical outcomes. The role will also provide opportunities for gaining new skills and job satisfaction.

As a team player, you'll be able to prioritise your work in order to meet deadlines and have a patient focused approach. Previous experience of working within complex case management including posture management is essential.
