A great opportunity has arisen to appoint full-time motivated, enthusiastic and hardworking band 3 Security Co-coordinators to complement our existing team at Ravenswood House, Mayles Lane, Fareham PO17 5NA.
Ravenswood House is a medium and low secure hospital providing assessment, care and treatment for adults with serious mental illness and/or personality disorder who need to receive their care in a secure environment. We provide high quality care and treatment to 68 male adults split across five clinical wards. Most of our patients have either committed a criminal offence or have challenging behaviour. We admit patients from high secure hospitals, local psychiatric hospitals, prisons, custody, and the courts.

Main duties of the job
Security Co-ordinators alongside the Clinical Risk & Security team leader maintain a safe and secure environment and support an objective therapeutic security focused contribution in the management of clinical and non-clinical risk posed by patients and the environment. The team provide security and risk advice to both clinical and non-clinical departments to enhance safety within Ravenswood House in respect to relevant guidance (e.g. secure services standards).
The successful applicant as a member of the security team will also be expected to provide an emergency response to incidents on clinical areas and so upon recruitment will be expected to undertake PMVA (Prevention Management of Violence & Aggression) training. PMVA is used when dealing with mentally unstable and potentially dangerous patients, who may be posing a risk to themselves or others.
The security team's core working hours cover 24-hour service 7 days a week. All team members work a 24-hour rotation shift pattern including weekends and nights.
*Early 07.00am - 15.00pm
*Late 13.00pm - 21.00pm
*Nights 20.30pm - 07.15am
