Job summary

Hampshire and Isle of Wight Healthcare NHS Foundation Trust are seeking a motivated and reliable Supply Chain Assistant to join our catering production team at Gosport War Memorial Hospital. As a key member of our department, you will assist in producing high quality fresh cooked products to be delivered across our healthcare services.

You will play a vital role in the delivery of a smooth and effective service through making sure all food items are ordered and delivered on time via the Saffron system and through ensuring quantity and quality of the goods received meets the high standards we expect.

Main duties of the job

Placing orders, receiving goods and storing away as needed in line with the Trust's food safety management system and issuing goods out to chefs and clinical staff, some picking and packing in freezer conditions.

Keeping accurate records of all food procured to ensure HACCP principles are adhered to.

Responsibility to ensure that goods in are processed correctly with accompanying paperwork and the stock control system, including keeping a check on pricing.

Keeping the work area clean and tidy in line with cleaning schedules and ensure stock rotation.

You may be expected to cover the Driver/Storeman position when required to ensure deliveries to other units in Hampshire. A clean driving license is essential to this role and experience of driving a large 3.5t box van with tail lift is preferred along with a good knowledge of roads in Hampshire.
