Job summary

We are seeking a friendly, enthusiastic, and motivated individual to join our Gosport ICT team as a Patient Support Administrator. This role offers an excellent opportunity to contribute to our healthcare services and make a positive impact on patients' lives.

As a Patient Support Administrator, you will be responsible for a range of essential administrative tasks. These include managing patient referrals, booking and coordinating appointments, handling incoming and outgoing telephone calls, ordering supplies, and performing various other administrative duties as required by the service.

The primary location for this position is Gosport War Memorial Hospital. However, please note that some travel may be required to cover other sites.

We are looking for candidates with excellent communication and IT skills who thrive in a busy environment. The ideal candidate will be a strong team player who can also work independently and use their own initiative. You should be effective at prioritising tasks and meeting deadlines, with a patient-focused approach to your work.

Proven experience as an administrator is essential for this role. While experience in healthcare settings is desirable, it is not essential, as full training will be provided. This makes the position suitable for those looking to transition into a healthcare environment.

Main duties of the job

Primary Purpose: Provide comprehensive administrative support to ICT.

1.Key Responsibilities:

oManage day-to-day administration

oBook nursing visits

oCollaborate with clinical and non-clinical team members

oProvide excellent customer service to all patients

oRecord outpatient attendance

oTake messages for all staff groups

oUpdate the RiO system following standard operating procedures

oProvide cross-site cover as needed

oData management and system updates

oFlexibility in supporting various locations

This role is crucial in ensuring smooth operations of the ICT by handling administrative tasks, coordinating patient care, and maintaining accurate records. The position requires strong organizational skills, attention to detail, excellent communication abilities, and proficiency in using healthcare information systems like RiO.
