Job summary
Thank you for showing interest in our role. We are looking for a manual handling trainer for our large community trust. You will be joining an established team of passionate manual handling trainers to deliver moving and handling training to a diverse demographic of staff. We expect you to have knowledge and experience of moving and handling so you can support the education and professional development of clinical and non-clinical staff across the Hampshire and Isle of Wight Healthcare NHS Foundation Trust and where appropriate external organisations in relation to manual handling. As part of the education team we will support you to develop your skills and knowledge and you will benefit from being in a large education team that can support you in all aspects of education delivery.
You do not need to be a registrant however, if you are not you should have extensive knowledge of manual handling and have delivered manual handling training before.
You will be required to deliver, coordinate and assist in the delivery of manual handling training programmes for the Trust. This includes level 1-3 training and bespoke training for specialised services such as dentistry and paediatrics in addition to single-handed care programmes.
Main duties of the job
You will be required to deliver, coordinate and assist in the delivery of manual handling training programmes for the Trust. This includes level 1-3 training and bespoke training for specialised services such as dentistry and paediatrics in addition to single-handed care programmes.
You will also need to provide specialist advice to clinicians within your sphere of competence regarding manual handling and ensure lifting equipment is serviced as required in line with LOLER regulations and other equipment is fit for purpose and safe. We would require you to contribute to the facilitation of the Manual Handling Link Advisor network, attending and facilitating quarterly meetings.
The role requires you to be able to travel to different locations and deliver training so a car driver is essential. We would also need you to have proficient digital skills and be able to give and receive information effectively, some of which may be complex. You must be able to appropriately delegate and effectively manage workload/actions that enable service delivery.
