Do you want to become a Senior Clinical Nurse Specialists and Non-Medical Prescriber's (NMP)?
We are either looking for a highly motivated and experienced Band 7 senior clinical nurse specialist, and qualified NMP or someone who is extremally keen to become one.
The post holder will need to be passionate about and have prior experience of working with children and young people, that have a recognised moderate to severe Learning Disabilities with associated mental health difficulties, behaviours that challenge and/or neurodevelopmental difficulties.

Robust and supportive clinical and management supervision and governance arrangements are in place so that staff are able to practice safely and effectively. There is a strong network NMP's within Hampshire CAMHS with a clear and collaborative governance structure. As well as specialist NMP supervision, there are frequent NMP peer support and governance meetings as well as quarterly CPD meetings with medical and pharmacy colleagues.
Please note for any applicant that is not currently a qualified NMP, they will remain as a band 6 until they qualify and complete associated competencies. You will be supported to apply for funding and to access training but it is not guaranteed it will be available.
Main duties of the job
This is a brand new role in a team that is continuing to develop following additional funding that has been received. Therefore the successful candidate will need to be highly motivated to develop the role and what the offer will be alongside clinical leads.
Currently all prescribing for The Learning Disability/Autism team is done by prescribers within community CAMHS team. The successful candidate will need to be flexible, enthusiastic and responsive as they work alongside numerous prescribers from different teams with various things going on. They will need to be able to audit the work they are doing so we can show the need to develop prescribing capacity within LD/A further.
The role will be responsible for being point of contact for our residential schools that we have within the area we cover. These young people get there day to support from the school but access CAMHS for medication and advice when difficulties are escalate. This duty will include responsibilities of being lead practitioner for some and being able to offer follow up meetings in between reviews.
You will be based in a local Community CAMHS base but will cover the whole county. Mileage will be paid and travel time will be taken into consideration when looking at day to day duties.
