Job summary
We are looking to recruit a full time Person-Centred Experiential Counselling for Depression (PCE-CfD) Trainee Therapist to join our friendly team within the Talking Therapies service on the Isle of Wight. This is an excellent opportunity for a highly motivated and passionate individual, trained in Person-Centred or Humanistic counselling / psychotherapy with more than two years post-qualifying experience (minimum of 450 Client Hours Completed). The Isle of Wight Talking Therapies team are very proud to offer this way of working within the NHS and this is an exciting opportunity to develop your practice through training in the PCE-CfD modality and delivering high quality, evidence-based therapy for our local population.
Applicants will be committed to training and working within an NHS Talking Therapies Service at Step 3 of the Stepped Care Model. As part of the role, you provide assessments and NICE approved therapies across the locality, through a variety of means such video conference and face to face sessions working flexibly to meet the service needs. Your salary during your training period will be 39,606 per annum (based on 2024/25 pay scales).
Main duties of the job
This is a training role within the Talking Therapies service on the Isle of Wight. The post-holder will be providing PCE-CfD whilst undertaking a programme of training for this role. The post holder will need to have a minimum of a Diploma in Person-Centred or Humanistic Counselling, 2 years post qualifying experience, and be accredited or working towards accreditation (min of 450 client hours achieved) with BACP or equivalent body.
The training provided as part of this role will equip the post holder to provide a PCE-CfD service to patients where NICE guidance recommends this modality. Delivery will be via multiple channels including telephone or secure video for remote workers and face-to-face and remote for Hybrid workers. The post holder will work with people with different cultural backgrounds and ages, using interpreters when necessary and should be committed to equal opportunities.
