Job summary
This is an exciting opportunity for a clinician to further their skills in a role that makes a positive impact in young people's lives within an innovative CAMHS service. This one-year fixed term training post is for qualified professionals with post registration experience to work as a 'Recruit to Train' therapist and Senior Mental Health Practitioner within a CAMHS team alongside other clinicians delivering evidence-based interventions.
This post provides the opportunity to complete training in Systemic Family Practice (SFP) delivering evidence-based systemic interventions for children and young people experiencing depression and self-harm or conduct disorder (with direct clinical supervision). The course is delivered by leading practitioners in the field at King's College London in collaboration with Anna Freud Centre. The trainee would split their time between attending university teaching days and carrying out clinical work within their team. The fixed term contract ends on course completion; however, applicants would be encouraged to apply for any vacant posts within the service.
Main duties of the job
This is a training role. The post-holder will work within Hampshire CAMHS as part of a multi-disciplinary team to assess, plan, deliver and evaluate, under supervision, high-quality evidence-based systemic interventions for referred young people in collaboration with professional colleagues and clinical services, in order to enable continuity of care.
The training and service experience will equip the post holder with the necessary knowledge, attitude and capabilities to operate effectively in an inclusive, value-driven service.
The post holder will attend all university based taught and self-study days required by the education provider, as specified within the agreed national curriculum, and work in the service for the remaining days of the week using their newly developed skills.
