Hi, I'm Sarah and I have been leading the Community Respiratory team on the Isle of Wight for many years and I can't imagine working anywhere else. We are looking for a Band 6 Respiratory Specialist to join our team.

We are looking for a qualified nurse, but our goal is to find someone with passion and interest in respiratory conditions. Therefore, we are happy to consider candidates with other qualifications, such as Physiotherapy, Physiology or Occupational therapy.

Our team works with patients in the community to support them at home with their chronic respiratory conditions, in their pulmonary rehabilitation rehab journey and during acute episodes.

Main duties of the job

Establish and develop skilled practice in the multidisciplinary management and nursing care of adult patients with a range of respiratory conditions, predominantly Interstitial Lung Disease (ILD), asthma, COPD, bronchiectasis and those requiring oxygen therapy.

To identify specific needs in education of patients, relatives, and staff and facilitate meeting these requirements.

Rotate to the virtual ward team on an agreed timeframe and to support the delivery of Pulmonary rehabilitation.

Work with the lead TB consultant to take a lead on TB contact tracing, support , advice and guidance.
