Job summary

Are you an Occupational Therapist looking for a rewarding full-time role to support and enhance mental health recovery?If so, this could be just the job for you!We are looking for an enthusiastic and innovative occupational therapist with a passion for working in adult mental health to join our supportive and forward-thinking team in central Southampton. As a valued member of the MDT, you will work collaboratively with service users employing a range of evidence based occupational assessments and interventions to support their recovery. You will have the opportunity to gain experience and develop skills in delivering these individual and group based interventions. There will also be opportunities to work with students on practice placements.We are a busy team in a busy city centre unit with a range of resources including group and activity space, ADL kitchen, sensory room, unit shop opened with service user volunteers and gym. Our team is made up of OTs, OT Techs/apprentices and a fitness instructor.You will be encouraged and supported in your personal and professional development through a comprehensive induction, regular supervision and ongoing continuing professional development. Main duties of the job

To manage a defined caseload from the acute care pathway, using evidence based/service user centred principles to assess, plan, implement and evaluate interventions in hospital and community settings and on home visits.

To provide group work and individual interventions.

To maintain clinical records.

To develop skills and knowledge through participation in relevant training and learning opportunities.

To participate in supervision and appraisal process

Our new Trust will continue to cater to the unique needs of different communities, making healthcare across the county more accessible, as well as offering staff more opportunities for career development, training and partnership working.
