Job summary

We have an exciting opportunity for a Physiotherapy Assistant to join our small team of children's Physiotherapists on the Isle of Wight.

This is a varied role working with a variety of age groups and different conditions. You would support children in schools, nurseries, their own homes and in outpatient clinic settings, providing physiotherapy programmes and teaching parents and carers.

Training will be provided, and you be well supported by the team to develop yourself as a therapy assistant.

Main duties of the job

To support Paediatric Physiotherapists with the delivery of high-quality care to children and young people with healthcare needs on the Isle of Wight, putting the child and family's needs at the centre of care

To independently work directly with patients carrying out specific treatment programmes or interventions under the guidance of qualified Physiotherapists.

Independently following treatment protocols where appropriate seeking advice as required.

To independently undertake administrative duties required to support the service.

To contribute to the development of effective and efficient treatment in the delivery of care.

To act at all times in the best interest of patients under your care.

To work flexibly both within in a team and independently as a member of the Paediatric Physiotherapy Service, working with patients and their families/carers, under the guidance of Physiotherapists.

To work without direct supervision and autonomously carrying out treatments prescribed by a qualified physiotherapist seeking advice as required.

To undertake administrative duties independently as required to support the clinical practice of staff within the Paediatric Physiotherapy Service

To contribute to the development of effective and efficient teamwork in the delivery of patient care.

To work flexibly in various areas in order to gain experience of all types of care and enhance clinical practice.
