Job summary
An exciting opportunity has arisen within Southern Health NHS Foundation Trust to appoint an innovative and dynamic Occupational Therapy (OT) Team Manager and Professional Lead for Allied Health Professionals (AHPs) for Children and Young People's (CYP) Services.
We are looking for a passionate and dedicated individual who will provide professional leadership for all of the AHP staff within CYP Services, providing advanced clinical expertise to enable strategic development of the professions in accordance with national and local guidance. The post-holder will additionally manage the OT staff team across the 3 CAMHS inpatient units (Bluebird House - medium secure, Austen House -- low secure/PICU, and Serenity Path Hospital -- acute and eating disorders) as well as Blake Eating Disorder Day Service.
The post-holder will have designated office space at Tatchbury Mount, however, will work peripatetically between the 3 hospital sites to ensure a parity of support for each service.
Main duties of the job
In both components of the role, the successful candidate will work in close partnership with the Advanced OT Practitioner. They will be an ambassador for AHPs, confident at communicating the added value of AHPs within the workforce, and have excellent written and verbal presentation and interpersonal skills in order to represent the CYP Service AHPs in all relevant forums.
The OT Team Manager component of the role will require the post-holder to provide operational leadership to the OT services including recruitment and line management. They will ensure that all OT staff receive regular supervision, appraisal and continuous professional development. They will be accountable for the professional and clinical performance of all AHP staff and will undertake a representative and advisory role within CYP Services for matters relating to AHPs. They will lead on quality assurance and research within each profession.
The post-holder will also lead on young people and families/carers' experience and involvement for CYP Services.
