Job summary

We are looking for a committed and enthusiastic Consultant Psychiatrist to join our CMHT in Winchester, Mid & North Hampshire Division. The post holder will be based at Avalon House, Winchester, and will become part of a team of consultants working in the Community.

Main duties of the job

The post holder will carry out the assessment, review and treatment of patients in a clinic and community setting. The post holder will formulate care plans in consultation with the multidisciplinary team, contribute to risk assessment and risk management and provide routine psychiatric advice and support to colleagues within the multi-disciplinary team and ensure that the clinical activity is accurately and comprehensively recorded.

The post holder will be required to maintain accurate and up to date clinical records on the Trust's RiO electronic record system, in accordance with Trust policies.

The post holder will ensure that his/her prescribing practices follow Trust policies & will ensure they keep up-to-date with clinical advances in treatment.

Essential

  • Recognised basic Medical Degree
  • Full GMC Registration with license to practice
  • MRCPsych or equivalent
  • Sec 12 approval
  • Within 12 months of CCT

Experience

Essential

  • Experience of assessing and treating patients in the inpatient/community psychiatric settings
  • Knowledge of UK Hospital Systems (or equivalent)
  • Experience of Multidisciplinary team working
  • Experience of risk assessment
  • Knowledge and evidence of participation in CPD.

  • Ability to take a full Psychiatric history and mental state
  • Ability to manage own time, workload and prioritise clinical work
