You will be a registered Mental Health, RCN or LD nurse with relevant experience, who is able to demonstrate a passion for the care of patients and their families.

All staff will be asked to work flexibly across a range of day and night shifts providing care to older people with functional mental health needs or with dementia.

Main duties of the job
The Mental Health Nurse in Inpatient Services is a core member of the ward team. They will act as a 'named nurse' for a specific group of inpatients on the ward and take responsibility for the assessment, planning, implementation and evaluation of their nursing care needs.
The nurse will take clinical leadership of the ward environment on a shift by shift basis as required working in a way that promotes the principles of recovery to ensure individualised, safe and effective care provision for all patients. In the absence of the ward manager/deputy they will also take the necessary managerial action to ensure compliance with organisational and stakeholder requirements

The transformation will happen in staggered stages; Hampshire CAMHS, part of Sussex Partnership NHS Foundation Trust joined Southern Health in February 2024, with Isle of Wight NHS Trust mental health and community services transitioning in early May 2024. The final combination of Southern Health and Solent Trusts is anticipated to occur in July 2024, when the new organisation will be formed.
Our new Trust will continue to cater to the unique needs of different communities, making healthcare across the county more accessible, as well as offering staff more opportunities for career development, training and partnership working.
