Job summary
The Southern Health MSK service is advertising Band 6 MSK Clinician role within our Havant locality team. The large MSK service across Southern Health takes pride in delivering high quality care and rehabilitation in the community. As a team member you will have access to regular clinical supervision, access to funding through our ACE academy and support on your journey towards advanced practice.
The Havant MSK team is multi-disciplinary and works out of Oak Park Community Hospital. This is a modern hospital which offers an open plan, curtained, assessment bay and a well-equipped gym. There is also ample free onsite staff parking. We work closely with our primary care colleagues to serve the local community, receiving referrals directly from GPs and Orthopaedic Consultants as well as self-referrals from patients and NHS staff working across Hampshire and Isle of Wight.
Alongside a varied MSK caseload, the successful applicant will have opportunities for leadership responsibility of to band 5 staff and students. There will also be opportunity to support with operational tasks, transformational projects, research, and education. Giving the successful candidate good opportunities to build their portfolio against the four pillars of advanced practice.
Please note that previous NHS MSK experience is desirable within this role.
Main duties of the job
Undertakes highly skilled musculoskeletal assessment of patients including those with highly complex presentations and from this formulates a diagnosis and treatment plan which is carried out as an autonomous practitioner.
Takes a role in the supervision, teaching and appraisal of senior, junior and rehabilitation assistants, physiotherapy students and other members of the multi disciplinary team.
Deputises for Team Leader as required.
Active involvement in service development for the department, Trust and profession.
Complete tasks assigned/delegated by team lead in a timely and professional manner.
Supervises, initiates and participates in evidence based projects, assists in implementing changes within designated team/area and setting and monitoring standards of practice.
