Job summary

Internal only to Southern Health NHS Foundation Trust, Solent NHS Trust and Isle of Wight NHS Trust employees.

It is a really exciting time here at Southern Health, we have just introduced our new Divisional Structure and created the new Acute and Crisis Pathway Team and are making great strides to improve the quality of services in both our Acute and Crisis and Community Mental Health Pathways.

Having completed the restructuring process we are looking to fill these 2 clinical and managerial posts to complete the leadership teams.

In these roles, we are looking for you to provide visible strategic and operational leadership to our Acute and Crisis or Community Mental Health Pathways, working flexibly across traditional boundaries of working and thinking, and being closely oriented and aligned to the external environment within which our services operate.

Main duties of the job

You will be responsible for the operational delivery, performance, and quality of the portfolio of services and will embed new ways of working and changes with partners to ensure the services can deliver the care our patients need and want.

You will have a key role in ensuring the delivery of safe and effective person centred services through the development and implementation of dynamic service delivery plans which support the delivery of our key Divisional strategies. You will manage and work collaboratively with clinical and quality leads and the other Associate Directors to ensure evidence-based practices are developed and aligned to a strong clinical governance and assurance framework. Using innovation and creativity you will maximize resources to deliver financial efficiencies and effective service delivery.

The post will be required to deputise for the (Divisional) Director of Operations to represent the division in Trust wide meetings and with system partners when necessary

The successful candidate must be able to demonstrate sound leadership, credible and in-depth experience of leading on system wide programmes within the NHS, working collaboratively with social care whilst managing and supporting staff and teams.

About us

Southern Health is one of the largest NHS Foundation Trusts in the UK, specialising in mental health and learning disabilities, as well as offering physical health community-based services.

As a Trust, our footprint spans more than 200 sites across Hampshire, wholeheartedly committed to providing the best possible healthcare, reaching a range of diverse communities.

- We function as a unified team, placing patients and staff at the forefront of all our endeavours.

- Our 7,000+ workforce is skilled and diverse, with a deep commitment to ongoing staff development. We offer customised training, leadership pathways, and a plethora of career opportunities.

- We respect and listen to your thoughts, ideas, and concerns via well-established network of staff groups to increase awareness and appreciation of equality, diversity, and inclusion.

Our new organisation is set to launch in April 2024 and will incorporate Southern Health, Solent, Isle of Wight and Sussex Partnership Trusts.
